To monitor a term or hashtag on YouTube, select YouTube and enter the relevant key terms as search criteria.

On YouTube is possible to search for terms and phrases. However, Youtube kept its search algorithm behavior in secrecy. Some results may be included or ommited without our control. Some examples of searches are shown below:

1. Search by phases or variations

Such search allows terms to be in the same order as they are written. For that, put them between double quoutes. For example:

"coca cola" 

YouTube algorithms’ll search for variations regarding the term, for example: “coca cola soda”.

2. Search for terms and synonyms

Such search allows one or more terms and their synonyms to be searched without regarding their order. For example:

vehicles cars

Videos containing vehicles or cars, or both will be returned. Still, variations of the terms will also be searched, such as “automobiles”, “four-wheeler”, etc.
